Don Wilson Gets Back at The Reds

In 1969, the Astros started the season with 4 wins and 20 losses. 3 of the losses came at the hands of the Reds, and the last was one, a no hitter by Jim Maloney, closed out the month. The next night, Don Wilson matched Maloney’s no hitter and started an Astros resurrection. Wilson’s no hitter that day gave the team a lift. They played better than any team in the division and were in the pennant race for the first time in their history.
