Podcast Highlights

Date of Event: July 12, 1979

Of all of franchise owner Bill Veeck’s outrageous promotional stunts over the years, his July 12, 1979 promotion was the wildest. It completely backfired, leaving the field of Comiskey Park in ruins and causing the White Sox to forfeit the 2nd game in the double header. This brought about 45,000 rowdy teens to the ballpark that day, 39 of whom were arrested for disorderly conduct.
